Retreat Terms & Conditions
Booking & Payment
  • Your place at the retreat is confirmed once we receive your deposit.
  • Please note: all deposits are strictly non-refundable.
  • Full payment must be made by the specified deadline to secure your spot.
  • Payments are accepted via Wise and must be made in Euro. Payments in other currencies may incur conversion fees.

 

Cancellations & Refunds
  • Cancellations made 4 weeks or more before the retreat start date are eligible for a full refund, minus the deposit and any transaction fees.
  • Cancellations within 30 days of the retreat start date are non-refundable.
  • Refunds (where applicable) will be processed within 10 business days of receiving your cancellation request.
  • If full payment is not received by the stated deadline, any payments made to date will be forfeited.
  • If you’re not fully satisfied with your retreat experience, you may request a partial refund within seven days of the retreat’s conclusion. Requests made after this timeframe will not be considered.
  • A full refund will only be granted if you did not participate in any portion of the retreat.
  • We are not liable for any missed or delayed travel (e.g., flights or trains). No refunds will be issued due to travel disruptions. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.

 

Retreat Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel the retreat in the following circumstances:

  • Low Registration: If the minimum number of attendees is not met.
  • Force Majeure: Including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, severe weather, or government-imposed restrictions.
  • Other Unforeseen Issues: Such as venue complications or staff illness.
 
In the unlikely event of cancellation:
  • You will receive a full refund of all payments made.
  • Alternatively, you may opt to transfer your booking to a future retreat, subject to availability.
  • Please note: We are not responsible for any additional costs (e.g., flights, accommodation outside the retreat, or lost income). We encourage flexible travel arrangements and appropriate insurance.

 

Participant Responsibilities:
  • Travel to and from the retreat is your responsibility.
  • Please inform us of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements in advance.
  • Participants are expected to follow the retreat’s schedule and code of conduct.
  • Any damage to the retreat property caused by a participant will be their financial responsibility.

 

Health & Safety:
  • All participants must comply with health and safety guidelines set by the organisers.
  • Travel insurance is mandatory and must be arranged independently.
  • We are not responsible for any illness, injury, or accidents during the retreat, unless resulting from our own negligence.

 

Itinerary Adjustments:
  • We reserve the right to modify the itinerary, activities, or accommodations due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any significant changes will be communicated as early as possible.

 

Liability Waiver:
  • By attending, participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with retreat activities.
  • The organisers, their staff, and affiliates are not liable for any personal loss, injury, or expense, except where legally proven to be due to our negligence.

 

Photography & Media:
  • At The Secret Reading Retreat, we cherish presence over performance. We believe in protecting the sacredness of our shared moments and the privacy of our guests.
  • While we may occasionally capture the atmosphere of the retreat for storytelling purposes—focusing on spaces, books, and the essence of the experience—we do so with deep respect for your comfort and consent. Faces and personal moments will never be shared without your permission.
  • If you prefer not to be included in any photos or media, simply let us know in writing before the retreat. Your privacy will always be honored.

 

Privacy:
  • Personal information collected during registration is used solely for the administration of the retreat.
  • We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and will not share your data with third parties, unless required by law.

 

Updates:

We may revise these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
